Despite his fame and money at a young age, Cameron Boyce remained humble and kindhearted. He loved to perform breakdancing and formed the dance group X Mob along with his four friends. He was best known for his role as Luke Rose on Jessie.

Early Life

Cameron Mica Boyce was born on May 28, 1999 in Los Angeles, California. Aside from breakdancing, he was also trained in modern dance, hip-hop, tap dance, jazz, and ballet. His early life is not really well-documented.


Boyce debuted as a kid version of Ryan Ross in a music video Panic! at the Disco in 2008. It was followed by an appearance as Michael 'Stones' Cates Jr. in General Hospital: Night Shift. In August 2008, he starred in the horror movie Mirrors as Michael "Mikey" Carson. He was possessed by a devil in the mirror. The story focuses on the struggles of the Carson family to fight the evil force that is using the mirror. The movie earned $72,436,439 worldwide.

In the same year, he played the role of Sam Holloman in the mystery thriller Eagle Eye. Sam is the son of Rachel (Michelle Monaghan), who is being coerced by ARIIA. It was another successful movie hit earning $178 million.

In June 2010, he co-starred alongside Adam Sandler for the comedy film Grown Ups and its sequel, Grown Ups 2. He played the role of Kate Feder, the son of Roxanne (Salma Hayek) and Greg (Jake Goldberg). The movie followed the story of five childhood friends who are already grown ups and facing different problems. Grown Ups hit the box office with over $271 million earnings. The movie’s success led to its sequel, Grown Ups 2. It was also a hit with a total gross of $247 million.

Boyce got his role as Luke Ross on the comedy series Jessie, which aired from 2011 to 2015. Ross is a laid back, crafty, and flirty who is passionate about video games and breakdancing. The series focuses on Jessie Prescott (Debby Ryan) who moves to New York City to follow her acting dream but ends up as a nanny.

Boyce became part of other Disney Channel series such as Good Luck Charlie, Descendants and Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything.

He won the Young Artist Award’s Best Performance in a Feature Film - Young Ensemble Cast for Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer.


Boyce dated his Descendants co-star Brenna D’Amico. He also had a relationship with American model and actress Peyton List.


Tragically, Boyce died at the age of 20 on July 6, 2019.

"He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated,” a spokesperson said on behalf of the Boyce family.
