Frank Carlton Serafino Ferrana, Jr. was born on December 11, 1958 in San Jose, California. His grandparents and mother raised him after his father left their family. However, his mother, Deana Richards, abandoned him too. This is when he started to move from places to places. He stayed in Jerome, Idaho, where he began shoplifting and breaking into homes. He also sold drugs in school and got expelled. His misbehavior triggered his grandparents to send him to his mother in Seattle. This is where he learned to play bass guitar, which he bought using the money he got from selling a stolen guitar.
At the age of 17, Sixx moved to Los Angeles. While auditioning to bands, he sells vacuums over the phone and works in a liquor store. He then joined the band Sister as a bass player. However, he was fired from the band along with his mate Lizzie Grey. They then worked together and formed the band London in 1978. Afterwards, he legally changed his name to Nikki Sixx.
When he left London, he co-founded Motley Crue with drummer Tommy Lee in 1981. Mick Mars and Vince Neil completed their line-up as leading guitarist and vocalist, respectively. In the same year, they’ve released their debut album Too Fast for Love. Motley signed with Elektra Records and re-released their album. It was followed by Shout at the Devil, which helped the band raise their popularity. In 1989, they released Dr. Feelgold, which was a commercial success and stayed on the charts for 114 weeks. Most of the materials and tracks of the band are written by him.
Sixx became addicted to heroin during his time with the band. He had undergone to rehabilitation centers. After getting better, the band continued to rise to fame and release hit albums.
The band split for a while, but got reunited in 2006 and completed a reunion tour. They also released their ninth album Saints of Los Angeles on June 24, 2008. Motley Crue officially retired in 2015.
As of January 2020. Sixx estimated net worth is $45.2 million. He gained his wealth from the band as well as from his record label and radio shows.
Sixx got engaged with Canadian singer-songwriter Denise “Vanity” Matthews in 1987. However, they were never married. They became drug buddies during their relationship.
He married Playboy model Brandi Brandt in 1989 and they had three sons. They are Decker Nilsson, Gunner Nicholas, Storm Brieanne. The pair divorced in 1996.
It was followed by his marriage to model Donna D’Errrico in 1996. Their daughter, Frankie Jean, was born in 2001. The pair called it off in 2007.

Day 8. It’s the simple things that we are now realizing are the most important things. I found a sliver of sunshine splashing down on my favorite chair outside. I’ve sat in that chair a 1000 times playing bass and watching TV.I never noticed just how beautiful that sunshine really was.If there is a positive in all this madness maybe we will slow down and be more mindful and stop taking the little things ( actual big things ) for granted. Here’s Ruby doing what she does best. She lives in the moment. ❤️
Sixx met Courtney Bingham in 2010. They got engaged while vacationing in St. Barts. The pair tied the knot on March 15, 2014. They welcomed their daughter, Ruby, on July 27, 2019.
